Bremen Public Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 until after the corporation’s planned Spring Break.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White announced that corporation officials discussed the matter with the Marshall County Health Department and other area school corporation officials to come up with the best solution for the students, staff and community.
All extra-curricular and athletic events are suspended until further notice.
Dr. White commented that teachers and staff will meet Monday and Tuesday this week to plan for virtual learning lessons to begin Wednesday, March 18. The instructional calendar for the upcoming weeks will be advertised yet this week.
Bremen Public Schools will be providing meals for students. The transportation department will oversee the delivery process. The support staff, in at the direction of the building administrators, will contact students to determine which households would benefit from this service. He stated that these will be “grab and go” lunches, and that delivery of meals can begin later in the week.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that when students are not in school, they should stay at home and not be in close contact with other children.
