Bids Opened for Bremen Downtown Utility Project

The Bremen Town Council members opened bids Monday night for utility work to be done prior to the street reconstruction this summer.

The project includes the replacement of a water main, four sewer laterals, water services and electrical conduit for the downtown lighting project.

Four companies submitted bids for the project.  Haskins Underground, Inc. in Plymouth bid about $445,600, Selge Construction out of Niles, Michigan bid about $477,900, Indiana Earth, Inc. out of Oceola submitted a bid of nearly $587,000, and HRP Construction, Inc. in South Bend bid just over $561,000.

The bids were taken under advisement.  A recommendation for approval will be presented at the council’s next meeting.
