Officials at Zentis North America, LLC are looking to expand operations at its Plymouth site.
Chief Senior Purchasing Manager Chris Siebenhaar told the Plymouth City Council Monday night that their primary production for the past 13 years has been fruit prep. Their product typically goes into yogurt products or smoothie drinks in the dairy industry. Officials want to expand operations beyond that scope. They plan to include refurbished equipment and other equipment to accommodate the new innovation, but the specific function was not mentioned during the meeting.
Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez said the investment is about $6.8 million. No new buildings are anticipated and no additional property will be purchased in this venture. About 22 new jobs are expected with this expansion to add to the current 225 roster of full-time employees.
A portion of the work has already started, prior to the application. It is the hope that production will occur yet this year.
The Plymouth City Council members approved a resolution to declare the area at 2025 N. Oak Drive an Economic Revitalization Area for the future purpose of tax abatement. The resolution was approved with a unanimous vote.
Mayor Mark Senter added that Shamrock Drive will be renamed Zentis Drive as they paved a portion of road back to the facility.
