Plymouth School Board Considers Superintendent Contract

Andrew Hartley

The Plymouth Community School Board members reviewed the superintendent’s contract Tuesday night.

Board President Todd Samuelson noted that the base salary for Superintendent Andy Hartley is an increase of $1,400 with all contributions the same as the last contract.  The proposed contract calls for an annual basic salary of $121,400 effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022.  The total value of the contract is about $162,000 which includes annuity, VEBA contribution, school board’s contribution to group health/dental/vision insurance premium, life insurance, gasoline allowance, and association memberships.

The contract also stipulates that Superintendent Andy Hartley will be evaluated by the school board and rated using the same categories applied to teachers and other administrators.

A public hearing concerning the contract was held at the last meeting and the contract was advertised per state statute.

Board members Larry Pinkerton and Samuelson commended Hartley on his efforts as the Lincoln Junior High School project continues along with many other aspects of his duties as superintendent.

The board members approved the contract with a unanimous vote.
