Plymouth Man Jailed Following Accident

Marcos Sanchez

An accident involving two vehicles in the overnight hours on Saturday in Marshall County resulted in the arrest of one of the drivers.

A deputy from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the area of U.S. 31 and U.S. 30 on a report of an accident.  Police say a pick-up truck driven by 33-year-old Marcos Sanchez of Plymouth rear ended a SUV driven by Brandon K. Gardner of Mishawaka.  No injuries were reported.

A further investigation reportedly found that Sanchez was under the influence of alcohol.  He was transported to the hospital for a certified test.  That test allegedly showed that Sanchez was two times over the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle.  Sanchez was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or more and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.  Sanchez has since bonded out of the jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
