Plymouth BOW Opens Bids for Cemetery, Police Vehicles

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members opened bids for vehicles for the Cemetery Department and the Plymouth Police Department.

The lone bid for a vehicle for the cemetery came from McCormick Motors in Nappanee.  The net price for the cab is $41,048.39 and bed price is $9,530.  Cemetery Superintendent Michael Collins asked the board members to approve the bid as long as all of the paperwork meets the specifications.  That request was granted.

Two bids were submitted for three new vehicles for the Police Department.  Oliver Ford Lincoln in Plymouth quoted three 2020 AWD utility interceptors with the trade-in of a 2012 Dodge Charger for a net price of $94,955.

Country Auto Center quoted three AWD Dodge Durango SUVs with a V6 engine at $29,369 each. If the department would opt for V8, they would add $2,997 per vehicle.

All vehicles are pursuit rated.  Both companies offered a $4,000 trade-in value for the police vehicle.

Police Chief David Bacon asked to take those quotes under advisement and come back at the Feb. 24 meeting with a recommendation.  That request was approved with a unanimous vote.
