Five people were injured in a two vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 8 and State Road 17 in Marshall County.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers say a pick-up truck driven by Kodie Wood, of Monterey, was traveling northbound on State Road 17 approaching the intersection with State Road 8 when a passenger car driven by Barbara Lohse, of Argos, failed to yield to the right-of-way and continued eastbound through the intersection. Wood was unable to avoid the collision, hitting Lohse’s vehicle on the passenger side.
One passenger in Lohse’s vehicle was entrapped in the vehicle and was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, according to the report.
Police say four passengers in Woods’ vehicle were all transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth with varying injuries.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Culver-Union Township EMS, Culver-Union Township Fire Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS, and Starke County EMS.
