Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that federal transportation funding was awarded for local road and bridge improvements and sidewalk projects to be bid out during the fiscal year beginning in July 2025.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters submitted funding requests for Bridge No. 11 on Union Road North over the Peter-Sarber Ditch south of U.S. 6 and Bridge No. 232 on Randolph Street in Plymouth. The projects were approved with federal funding amounts of $1,080,960 and $2,254,480, respectively. Local matching money will be included in the final cost of the projects.
Overall, $120.8 million in federal transportation funding was awarded to 52 cities, towns, and counties in rural areas in the state.
