Bremen Clerk-Treasurer Janet Anglemyer updated the town council members Monday night about licenses that were purchased concerning cyber security. Those licenses are expected to cover all of the town’s computers.
Town Attorney Anthony Wagner brought up the issue at the last meeting, saying that it’s important to protect the town’s utilities especially in the case of a ransomware attack. The town’s insurance agency was going to be notified of the action to take precaution following the last meeting.
It was noted that cyber security measures had to be taken to cover the town’s water utility software. The cost of the licenses was just under $3,000.
