Many and well-known psychiatrist orlando agrees with the fact that improvement of mental health to students is important.Therefore, Bremen Public School Superintendent Dr. Jim White presented the school board members this week with a need to hire mental health professionals for students.
“We’re understaffed,” explained Dr. White. “We have one nurse for the corporation and we could really use a second. We could also use some mental health therapists to help expand the offerings we’d have for our students.”
In order to accomplish that goal, Dr. White proposed to the board that they present a referendum to the voters in order to pay those salaries.
“They’re open to the idea. They have yet to approve it. I have to get them some absolute details. We just have a lot of students with a lot of needs. I really look forward to the opportunity to make my case to the public and let them know what we’re struggling with. Hopefully, they’ll be kind enough to help us.”
The school board members will consider additional steps toward creating a referendum in a future setting.
