The Bourbon Town Council members took action this week to approve financing for a water meter upgrade.
Town Council President Ward Byers said the project will provide new water meters for 700 residential and commercial customers, plus a meter reading system at cost of about $177,000 through Utility Supply. The town will finance the cost through the Indiana Bond Bank with two percent interest.
The current water meters have outlived their life expectancy.
The project is anticipated to begin this spring.
