Triton School Board Sets 2020 Meeting Schedule & Discusses Board Compensation

The Triton School Board set their meeting schedule for the New Year when members met Monday evening.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle reports that the board chose not to make any changes from the way things were last year, with meetings scheduled for 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

The school board meets in the Triton School Corporation Administration Office and their regularly scheduled meeting are always open to the public.

The topic of board member salaries was addressed as well. Superintendent Riffle noted that it was also unchanged from last year, remaining at $1,850.

He mentioned that board members are given the option to opt out of receiving the money.

Riffle explained, “They are also given the opportunity to waive that salary if they would like to or donate it back to the school.”

He added that the compensation is provided all at once and members who didn’t waive the salary will receive those funds today.
