The Plymouth Redevelopment Commissioners voted this week to deny the final payment to the contractors working on the River Gate South project.
The River Gate South apartment complexes are located at the corner of Lake Street and Michigan Street in Plymouth. Each floor plan is different and 39 apartments are available in three different buildings. River Gate South was proposed as a workforce housing need to help increase economic health and stability.
Construction on the third and final River Gate South apartment complex was found to be substantially complete with the issuance of a certificate of occupancy. However, the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members noted quite a few punchlist items listed in order to finalize the project. They unanimously voted to deny the final payment until those issues are resolved.
Commission member Nancy Felde asked if the streetscape project will be incorporated into plans as she saw a few trees and other perennials and annuals damaged during construction. That will be looked at as spring approaches.
