Plymouth School Board Holds First Reading Over New and Revised NEOLA Policies

The Plymouth School Board held the first reading over several new and revised policies and guidelines when members met on Tuesday.

Superintendent Andy Hartley informed members what was being presented to them.

He explained, “This is the list of recommended revised policies and guidelines as well as some new ones. We met with our representatives from NEOLA and were notified of those that we need to update.”

He went on to provide a brief overview of the kind of policies that were up for consideration, “Policies include but are not limited to topics relating to school safety, reporting child abuse and neglect, identifiying Mrs. [Jill] VanDriessche as a our compliance officer in the district as well as some things on the budget process.”

Hartley continued, “As always they’re connected to either new state statutes, federal laws, guidelines, regulations, administrative rules, court cases, things like that.”

There were no comments provided at the time of the meeting but board members were asked to reach out to Superintendent Hartley prior to February’s meeting if they have any questions or concerns.

The recommended policy revisions and updates will be considered for adoption during a future meeting. They can accessed under agenda item 4.5 on the school board’s interactive BoardDocs page.
