Plymouth School Board Retains Same Officials and Approves Board Appointments

When the Plymouth School Board met for the first meeting of 2020, members organized for the new year.

It was unanimously decided that Todd Samuelson will continue to serve as board president, Melissa Christiansen will stay on as vice president and Robin Cupka will retain her position as board secretary.

Samuelson and Cupka were also elected to be the president and secretary of the board of finance, respectively.

In addition to that, members authorized a number of appointments when they approved the consent agenda. Kandi Tinkey was appointed as the Corporation Treasurer while Wendy Haenes was appointed to Deputy Treasurer.

As far as board appointments go, President Samuelson will be legislative liaison and Vice President Christianson will serve as negotiation liaison. VP Christiansen was also appointed to the Strategic Planning Committee along with board member Allison Shook.

Members also voted to retain Jeff Houin from the law firm Easterday Houin as the school corporation’s legal counsel.
