Plymouth School Board Adopts Resolution Related to Special Education Excess Costs

The Plymouth School Board took action to give particular authorization to Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche when they met last week.

The board members were presented with a resolution and Superintendent Andy Hartley relayed that it has to do with establishing who is permitted to sign contracts with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and other providers when it comes to receiving Special Education Excess Costs.

He noted, “Sometimes we need to engage in those contracts with the IDOE to cover excessive costs for services for a particular student. The IDOE requires that this resolution be passed in order for Mrs. VanDriessche to be added to the list of people who can do that. It has her and [Treasurer] Kandi Tinkey listed on there.”

The resolution was passed without any opposition
