Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon asked the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night to start the hiring process for a new officer.
“I’ve been told by an officer that they anticipate retiring in the middle of March. I haven’t received anything official yet, but to get the ball rolling I’d like to start the process,” explained Bacon.
Chief Bacon also asked to seek quotes for three new vehicles for the Police Department. The purchases were forecast in this year’s budget.
The board members approved both requests with a unanimous vote.
