Indiana Department of Education Releases Federal 2018-2019 School Accountability Ratings

While concerns about ILEARN results continue to hold up the release of the state’s school letter grades for the 2018-2019 school year, the separate federal accountability ratings are now available.

Bremen High School, Argos schools, Triton schools, and Plymouth’s Riverside Intermediate School and Washington Discovery Academy scored the best among Marshall County’s schools, being listed as meeting expectations overall. LaVille Elementary School and all four schools in the John Glenn School Corporation also met expectations.

The only school in Marshall County that was rated as not meeting expectations was Webster Elementary School in Plymouth. The school specifically failed to meet expectations for academic progress in both English/language arts and math, as well as when it came to closing gaps in math.

All other Marshall County schools were considered to be approaching expectations. None exceeded expectations, which is the highest rating.

The State Board of Education has decided not to issue school letter grades for the 2018-2019 school year until the General Assembly takes action to hold schools and teachers harmless for the 2019 ILEARN scores. The complete Federal 2018-2019 School Accountability Ratings can be found on the Indiana Department of Education’s website.
