The National Weather Service has scaled back the threat of flooding in this latest weather event.
The flood warning is now a flood watch for the area. Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery states that no major river flooding is now forecast. He added that moderate flooding is forecast for both the Yellow River and Tippecanoe River. Moderate flood stage of the Yellow River is at 14 feet. The flood stage is 13 feet. The Tippecanoe River at Ora is forecast to reach 13 feet by Tuesday afternoon. The flood stage is 12 feet.
The amount of rain predicted is now expected to be just under 2.5 inches.
Avery added that flooding of streams, creeks, ditches, and low lying areas is still expected, as well as on some roads prone to gathering high water.
Sand and sandbags are available at the old EMA office located just north of the Marshall County Highway Garage on King Road. You will need to bring your own shovel. The City of Plymouth also has sand and sandbags available at the City Garage located at 2124 Western Ave, or behind the auto parts store on Garro Street in Plymouth.
