Today is the first day candidates can file for office for the 2020 Election.
Marshall County Clerk Deb VanDeMark reminded the Marshall County Election Board members Tuesday morning that candidate filing continues through Feb. 7 at noon.
Federal positions include the President of the United States, U.S. Senate and District 2 U.S. Representative.
State positions include the Governor, Attorney General, District 9 State Senator, and District 17 State Representative.
At the county level, the seats open include Superior Court No. 2 Judge, Circuit Court Judge, District 2 County Commissioner, District 3 County Commissioner, three At-Large seats on the Marshall County Council, County Coroner, County Treasurer, and County Surveyor.
Two seats are open on the Lake of the Woods Regional Sewer District. Interested candidates must fill out a petition with at least 10 valid signatures of registered voters.
Republican Precinct Committeemen will also be chosen as well as State Convention Delegates.
School board filings are in July and August.
