The Marshall County Economic Development Corporation was discussed when Bourbon Town Council members met for the first meeting of 2020.

Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger presented members with a request submitted from the MCEDC for a payment of $10,000, according to draft minutes from the meeting.

The minutes go on to say that Councilman P.J. Hanley voiced a concern about a recent lack of representation from the organization and stated that he expects MCEDC President and CEO Jerry Chavez to attend monthly meetings to deliver updates.

Council President Ward Byers then asked Bourbon Zoning/Building Commissioner Bill Keyser, who serves as the Town’s representative on the MCEDC, to inform Chavez that they’re interested in receiving monthly updates about what’s happening with economic development within the Town.

Councilman Les McFarland then made a motion to pay the specified fee in quarterly installments and it was supported unanimously.
