The Argos Town Council approved a contract extension related to trash and recycling collection when members met for their final meeting in December.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney reports that members approved a 5-year contract with their current provider Republic Services.
The members also considered and approved an associated ordinance for 2020 collection charges. The residential cost increased slightly and will now be about $19 per month and the commercial cost will now be around $29.50.
Though the contract with Republic Services runs for 5-years, Clerk-Treasurer Mullaney noted that the fees are reviewed on an annual basis and adjustments can be made.
