An accident involving two passenger cars in Marshall County on Monday evening resulted in injuries.
According to a report issued by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Argos resident, Jennifer Riddle, was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 shortly before 6 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Austin Jones, of Kankakee, Illinois, failed to yield to the right-of-way while traveling east on 14th Road. Riddle’s 2014 Nissan Versa struck Jones’ 2005 Nissan Sentra on the driver’s side as it went across the southbound lanes of traffic.
Police say Riddle was transported to the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for complaints of pain while Jones remains in critical condition at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Officers indicate that the crash is still under investigation.
