The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department recently conducted a fundraiser to collect money for Ounce of Prevention.
Marshall County 911 Director Matt Pitney helped organize the effort.
“We’ve been doing this for a few years now trying to raise money for Ounce of Prevention Marshall County which is a great, local charity that does a lot out at the hospital and different places in Marshall County for people that are fighting cancer,” said Pitney.
Pitney announced to the Marshall County Commissioners this week that the dispatchers and personnel sold t-shirts with help from Oliver Ford and raised about $1,500 which is much more than their goal.
A check for that amount was presented to Jenny Houin who manages the organization. The money will be used to increase breast cancer awareness and support systems, plus help those who have been diagnosed with cancer. For more information, visit http://www.plymouthounceofprevention.org/.
