The Bremen Town Council members awarded a bid for the proposed storm sewer replacement project in the Parkview Subdivision.
Haskins Underground was awarded the contract. The company submitted the lowest responsible bid of $299,495. Accompanying documents were signed by the council members last week.
In a previous meeting, Ken Jones from engineering firm Jones, Petrie and Rafinski said several years after the Parkview Subdivision was accepted into the town, the storm sewer lines collapsed. As a result, the system hasn’t worked right. Flooding and standing water occurs in the area when it rains. The system will be corrected with this proposed project. Jones indicated that a pre-construction meeting will be scheduled with property owners in that area as there could be some access issues when construction occurs.
