Marshall County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer will serve another term as president of the Indiana Association of County Commissioners Northwest District.
Overmyer will represent the elected county commissioners in Benton, Carroll, Cass, Fulton, Howard, Jasper, Lake, La Porte, Marshall, Miami, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, and White Counties.
La Porte County Commissioner Rick Mrozinski was re-elected as the district vice president.
Elections were held during the Indiana Association of County Commissioners Annual Conference. The three-day event involved workshops and breakout sessions on the topic of “sharing solutions” such as cyber security, wastewater planning, economic development, Indiana jails in distress, emergency preparedness and resiliency, road and bridge funding, road safety planning, and more.
Keynote Speaker State Sentor Rodric Bray spoke on current issues to local government, infrastructure, and the mental health and the addiction problem that is causing jail overcrowding in many Indiana counties.
