Helping new teachers get the support they need is the goal of a new system approved by the Culver School Board last week.
“A new program we started was mentor teachers getting paid for helping our new teachers that have started in this school year, so we approved all our mentor teachers,” Superintendent Karen Shuman explains. She says each mentor teacher will now get a $250 stipend.
Shuman says the school board also hired a teacher for a newly-added special education position at the middle/high school.
