Bids for Plymouth’s Community Crossings Street and Sidewalk Projects Opened

Bids for the City of Plymouth’s 2019 Community Crossings-funded street and sidewalk projects were opened when Board of Works members met last week.

As a reminder, the City was awarded about $115,000 from the matching grant and projects include paving Ferndale Street from South Liberty Street to East Street as well as Airport Drive from North Michigan Street to the end of the certified mile

City officials received a total of four bids on the projects. Phend &Brown put in a bid for $445,682.30 and E&B Paving offered to do the work for $315,627.50 while Walsh & Kelly provided a bid of $292,296.70 and Rieth-Riley had the lowest bid of $283,668.

City Engineer Rick Gaul said the bids would be taken under advisement and that he will return to the board with a decision during their next meeting.
