Alyssa Shepherd will be sentenced in a Fulton County Courtroom today.
She was convicted on five counts related to an incident in Fulton County in October 2018 where she struck and killed three children with her vehicle as they crossed State Road 25 to board a Tippecanoe Valley school bus. They were six-year-old twins Xzavier and Mason Ingle and their nine-year-old sister Alivia Stahl. Another student, Maverik Lowe, was seriously injured.
Following a three-day trial, a jury returned guilty verdicts on three Level 5 felony counts of reckless homicide, a Level 6 felony count of criminal recklessness resulting in bodily injury, and a misdemeanor count of passing a school bus with its stop arm extended causing bodily injury.
Sentencing is scheduled for today at 1 p.m. ET in Fulton Superior Court.
