Work on the Flora Street railroad crossing near the Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation (PIDCO) is expected next week.
PIDCO Vice President Terry Burkins recently asked the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members to close the Flora Street railroad crossing so that Ameritrack Rail crews can do the repairs Nov. 13 through Nov. 15.
PIDCO is also coordinating with Pregis company officials to ensure production won’t be disrupted during the closure.
Barricades are anticipated to alert traffic of the closure. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt said his department doesn’t have the necessary barricades to properly cover that type of closure, so Burkins will check to make sure they would be available by Ameritrack.
The board members approved the request to close the Flora Street railroad crossing during the time specified. The work is weather dependent.
