Two Arrested on Suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated Early Sunday Morning

Marshall County Police say they made two drunk-driving-related arrests early Sunday morning. Officers say that just before 1:15, they pulled over a vehicle for speeding near Michigan and 6C roads.

A chemical test reportedly showed that the driver, Timmy Ellis Howard, 41, of Culver, was more than three times the legal limit for alcohol. He was taken to the Marshall County Jail for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated at 0.15 percent or higher and operating while intoxicated endangerment.

About an hour after that traffic stop, officers say that Sara Nicole Schaefer, 33, of Plymouth, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, after a traffic stop near Michigan and 3A roads. She faces a level 6 felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated for a second or subsequent time within the last seven years, as well as potential misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more.
