A Rochester man was arrested in the overnight hours Thursday after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in an incident in Marshall County.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy reportedly clocked a vehicle going 94 miles-per-hour on U.S. 31 in the area of 11th Road just after 2 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer detected the odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath, according to the report.
Police say an investigation found the blood alcohol content of 45-year-old Randall Scott Spaulding to be almost three times over the legal limit of alcohol.
Spaulding was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .15% or more, and reckless driving at an unreasonably high speed.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
