The Plymouth City Council held final readings over an ordinance that would fix the 2020 salaries for elected officials when members met Monday night.
As previously reported, the ordinance reflects a 2.8 percent increase that was approved earlier this year. At the time the increase was proposed, it was stated that it was to keep wages in line with the cost of living.
In 2020, City Council members are expected to receive $8,953 while the Clerk-Treasurer’s salary will be nearly $65,282 and the Mayor will be paid about $62,877.
According to information provided in the past, the salaries will be paid in 24 equal installments. They are reportedly funded by equal portions that are taken from the Water Works, General, and Wastewater Funds.
The ordinance was passed with unanimous approval.
