Eyes Turn to Local 2020 Election

With most of the interest focused on the election of the President of the United States in 2020, many are looking at what local offices are up for election next year.

In Marshall County, voters will select a Superior Court No. 2 Judge, Circuit Court Judge, County Commissioner in District 2, County Council member in District 3, three at-large County Council members, County Coroner, County Treasurer, and County Surveyor.

Two seats are also open on the Lake of the Woods Regional Sewer District as well as Republican Precinct Committeemen and Republican and Democrat State Convention Delegates.

Candidate filing begins on Jan. 8, 2020.

Argos, Bremen, Culver, John Glenn, Plymouth, Triton, and Union North United School Board seats are open, but candidates for those positions will not file until July 2020. Ten verified signatures are required on petitions for school board candidates.

At the state level, Governor, Attorney General, State Senator District 9, State Senator District 18, and State Representative District 17 seats will be on the ballot.
