Marshall County Coroner Provides Update about Friday’s Fatal Fire Victim

The Marshall County Coroner’s Office has conducted an autopsy on the individual who passed away as a result of a house fire on 19b Road last Friday.

Coroner John Grolich reports that the autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, November 5th and confirmed what preliminary findings at the scene indicated.

According to the results, the probable cause of death was severe thermal burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. Coroner Grolich’s update also notes that the victim was reportedly alive at the time of the fire.

The initial press release about the matter stated that shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, November 1st, the Marshall County 911 Center received a report of a residential fire. Emergency crews responded to an address on 19b Road, southwest of Culver. Upon their arrival, responders found 67-year-old Allen E. Jones deceased at the scene.
