The John Glenn School Board members discussed a technology purchase with IT Director Andrew Stegemiller last week.
Stegemiller informed the board that the corporation would benefit from the purchase of a wireless access point and improvements to firewall protection. The purchase is $125,207.29, but since the school corporation is part of the E-Rate program, about $80,000 of that will be paid for through that federal program.
The school board approved the balance of about $45,000 toward the purchase. The claim will be paid for after the first of the year out of the 2020 budget.
