The new Bremen K9 officer and his partner are in their second week of training at the Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana.
Bremen Police Chief Brad Kile told the town council members on Monday night that K9 Officer Troy Ulch and K9 Taro still have a few weeks of training before they are put into official patrol.
Kile mentioned that TCC-Verizon provided a $10,000 matching grant donation to help with the purchase of K9 Taro. The police department was able to match those funds from other generous donors to put K9 Taro on the force.
K9 Taro is a young Belgian Malinois from the Netherlands.
