The Argos Town Council approved the employee holiday schedule for next year when members met last Wednesday.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said all the same holidays were included so the only changes that were made to the updated schedule were the dates.
She noted if a holiday falls on the weekend, they make it so that employees will either receive the day off on the work day that occurs right before or immediately following the holiday.
In addition approving the ordinance that puts that holiday schedule into effect, members looked into revising the Economic Director responsibilities for 2020.
Clerk-Treasurer Mullaney said that officials have discussed the possibility of making the Economic Director the Town’s one point-of-contact for the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.
She said this suggested change would assist MCEDC President and CEO Jerry Chavez so that rather than having to go to each member of the Town Council or other Town officials, he could relay information to the Economic Director and they would then pass the word along.
No official decisions were made during the meeting. However, Mullaney said town council members were in agreement that the change would be beneficial.
Town Attorney Derek Jones was tasked with amending the language in the existing resolution related to the position and it will be brought back to the council for future consideration.
Mullaney added that the position of Economic Director will be up for re-appointment on January 1st.
