Plymouth Man Sentenced for Aggravated Battery, Neglect of a Dependent

Micah Kunkle

A Plymouth man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison, after he was found guilty of aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent. WNDU-TV says Micah Kunkle had been convicted of holding a two-year-old boy under hot water, giving him third-degree burns.

The investigation began back in October of 2018, when the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department got a complaint of possible child abuse from a Mishawaka hospital.

Kunkle was sentenced Thursday to 16 years in the Indiana Department of Correction for aggravated battery of a child and another six years for neglect of a dependent. WNDU says the judge found no mitigating factors, pointing out a lack of remorse from Kunkle during the trial.
