In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Plymouth Fire Department will be hosting a special open house at their station on Saturday, October 12th from noon until 3 p.m.

There will be a bounce house as well as free hotdogs, drinks, and cookies while supplies last. Attendees will get a chance to spray a fire hose, tour the station and take a look at the fire trucks close up and in action. Truck 1 will be set up and ready to take people up.

In addition to hosting the open house, the Department has issued some safety tips to keep in mind.

Officials note that families should take some time to go over fire exit plans and state that now is a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

They also remind all residents that it is a good idea to close your door before you go to bed, as it will be one more level of protection if a fire does occur.
