The open Marshall County Commissioner’s seat will be filled during tonight’s Republican Party caucus.
The seat became vacant earlier this month when County Commissioner Mike Delp submitted his resignation from the position he’s held the past three years after previously serving as a Plymouth City Councilman for nine years.
Approximately 25 republican precinct representatives will select Delp’s successor tonight. The candidates they will choose between are Plymouth residents Mike Burroughs and Larry Fisher.
As Commissioner, Delp was the representative for Marshall County’s middle district which includes Center Township and the City of Plymouth, according to Republican Party Chair David Holmes. The individual who replaces him will carry out his term through the end of 2020.
The caucus will be held at 6 p.m. in the Republican Party Headquarters located at 117 Water Street in Plymouth.
