Community members are invited to experience Marshall County history like never before with this Saturday’s ‘Ghost Walk’ at the Marshall County Museum.
From 6:30 p.m. until 6:50 p.m. on October 26th, participants will gather and organize into their groups and then depart for the tours at 7 p.m.
Mindy Langdon, Community Relations for the Museum, shared that event-goers will be led by trained guides through dimly lit hallways and will visit three floors. During the Ghost Walk, secret stairs and hidden passageways of the museum will be discovered.
She said people can expect encounters with spooks, spirits, and strange noises. Modern-day citizens and officials, including Mayor Mark Senter and Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi, will be assuming the personas of various Marshall County residents of the past to tell their stories and reveal the development of the community.
According to Langdon, these stories will be told through the characters of pioneer John Houghton (The Very Rev. John Houghton), entertainer Baptiste Goldkette (Tom Boys), and nurse Lora Burden (Teressa Welborn).
People will hear the chilling stories of those who died too soon from farmer Fred Fesser (Sam Erwin) to newlywed Emma Bowles (Cyndi Dietrich).
Tragic accounts of lives cut short by unnatural causes will also be highlighted and other characters include Gilbert Eakins (Dennis Bottorff), Daniel McDonald (Mark Senter), Milo Johnson (Brent Martin), Jeremiah Horan (Monty Peden), James Heminger (Tom Buchanan), Peter Lichtenbarger (Don Balka), Faye Albert (Marilyn Gochenour), Daniel Day (Sean Surisi) and Louberta Meredith (Brenda Anderson).
Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the Museum, located at 123 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth. Sales are limited to 200 tickets. If you have any questions, call 574-936-2306.
