The Bremen Police Department announced the new K9 officer during the Bremen Town Council meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Officer Matt Schnaible said that Troy Ulch will serve as the town’s next K9 officer. He will attend training at the Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana on Nov. 4 for six weeks before taking over patrols.
Schnaible said local donations were received from German Township and several businesses to help purchase the K9 along with a $10,000 matching grant.
