Winamac Residents Jailed Following Alleged Theft Incident in Plymouth

Two Winamac residents were arrested on Monday following an alleged theft incident in Plymouth.

Plymouth Police were dispatched to Walmart in reference to shoplifters shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday, September 16th.

Once on the scene, authorities located 50-year-old Joseph Clay Potter and 47-year-old Sherry Lyn Benton in a car in the parking lot with items that were reportedly taken from the store.

They both face charges of theft and Potter faces an additional charge of false informing after apparently giving a fake name and date of birth. Additionally, Benton was found to have an active warrant out of Goshen.

They were each taken to the Marshall County Jail.
