Plymouth BOW, City Council to Meet Tonight

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will meet tonight where they will consider quotes for the demolition of the old Clarke Station on Jefferson Street.  The members will also award bids for the street and sidewalk fall projects.

Rebecca Palmer will have an update on how the caring cupboards food collection is going.  During a July meeting, Palmer described the bins as an “emergency food pantry” for those in need that can be accessed at all times.  She was asked to come back to provide an update once the bins were operational.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting.

The city council members will open a public hearing to hear comments on proposed additional appropriation requests.

Following the hearing, an ordinance that would authorize allowances to city employees and officials for mileage and meals will be considered for additional readings as well an ordinance for appropriations and tax rates for 2020, commonly known as the 2020 budget ordinance.

Resolutions to transfer dormant aviation grant funds to the Cumulative Capital Development fund and the transfer of dormant LARE Grant Funds to the Park Non-Reverting Capital Improvement Fund will be reviewed for action.

Both meetings will be held in the council chambers room on the second floor of the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street. Those planning on attending the meeting should use the Garro Street entrance.
