A Saint Charles, Illinois man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Bourbon early Thursday morning.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2003 Volkswagon passenger vehicle after the driver was allegedly speeding on U.S. 30 and Hawthorn Road in Bourbon, according to the report.
During the investigation, police say a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of a vehicle reportedly resulted in the confiscation of marijuana, marijuana hash and a schedule I-IV controlled substance.
The driver, 20-year-old Eli Samuel Merced, was booked into the Marshall County Jail on drug possession charges. His bond was set at $4,505 cash.
