A driver escaped major injury in an accident on U.S. 30 and Union Road in Plymouth on Saturday evening.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Kelly Skinner was traveling east on U.S. 30 west of Union Road when she looked down to read her phone, veered off the road and struck the rear of the semi trailer parked on the shoulder.
Police say Skinner was able to exit her vehicle under her own power until first responders were able to evaluate her at the scene. The report indicated that she sustained minor injuries, but was transported by medivac helicopter to the hospital for precautionary treatment. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
