The Culver Town Council recently approved multiple special permit requests for upcoming events taking place in September.
One request came from St. Mary’s of the Lakes Catholic Church. Officials there requested permission to have a small road closure near the church for a few hours for a parish picnic. That event is scheduled to be held today (Saturday).
Another request was for the Culver Wine Fair at the Cove. That is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th and will require a road closure at the end of West Jefferson Street.
Knights of Columbus requested permission to hold a street collection charity event the morning of Saturday, September 28th. They were requesting permission to be stationed at the corner of Lake Shore Drive and Academy Road as well as the one on Main and Jefferson Streets.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist mentioned that a request for the Fall Fest will likely be presented at the next meeting. He said event planners still have to meet with Police Chief Wayne Bean to arrange for an alcohol permit before they present their request to the council for consideration.
