Now that the Culver School Board has separated the athletic director position from the middle/high school assistant principal position, board members took action last week to update the wage and benefit schedules to reflect the change, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman.
“The assistant principal is on a 220-day contract, and the athletic director’s on a 250-day contract, so those two things were separated out in the new wage and benefits,” she explains. “But otherwise, they are equitable positions, as far as salary and benefits.”
Shuman previously told board members that the full-time athletic director’s annual salary would be between $55,000 and $65,000. The separation of the two positions recently led to the hiring of Josh Pugh as middle/high school assistant principal.
