Two South Bend Men Arrested After Separate Theft Reports at Plymouth Walmart Monday

A South Bend man accused of stealing from the Plymouth Walmart may also face several drug-related charges. Plymouth Police were called to the store just after 4:00 p.m. Monday, following a report that a man tried to steal merchandise and fled on foot.

Officers say they found Robert B. Cumbess, 43, hiding in bushes along U.S. 30 near Arby’s. In addition to theft, he’s also accused of possession of heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, a syringe, and drug paraphernalia.

Less than an hour-and-a-half later, Plymouth Police were back at Walmart arresting another South Bend man accused of theft. Officers say Peter Nguyen, 36, was observed leaving the store without paying for an automotive battery.
